Wilcox, an attorney who has concentrated her law practice in the areas of consumer and small business bankruptcy for 22 years in the Central District of Illinois Bankruptcy Court [www.ilcb.uscourts.gov] in Peoria, Illinois. Her extensive experience in bankruptcy includes filing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases for residents in the counties of Knox, Warren, McDonough, Hancock, Fulton, Henderson, Peoria, Tazwell, Henry, Mercer and Rock Island, Illinois. Pam also has represented creditors and trustees in Chapter 7, Chapter 13, Chapter 11, and Chapter 12 bankruptcy cases in the Central District of Illinois. She has bankruptcy litigation experience and has handled bankruptcy appeals to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Pam was born in Galesburg, Illinois, in 1954. She received her B.A. degree in 1975 from Illinois State University, and her J.D. degree in 1989 from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. Admitted to the Illinois bar in 1989, Pam is a member of the bar for the United States District Court, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois and the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit. She is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys [www.nacba.org], the American Bankruptcy Institute [www.abiworld.org ], and the bar associations for Knox County [www.knoxcountybar.org], and Illinois State Bar Association [www.isba.org]. She is also board certified in Consumer Bankruptcy by the American Board of Certification [www.abcworld.org]. Accredited by the American Bar Association [www.aba.org], the American Board of Certification ["ABC"] is the only national bankruptcy certification program. As one of only seven attorneys in the State of Illinois who are board certified in consumer bankruptcy, Pam has maintained the certification for ten years through maintaining an active practice and participation in 20 hours of continuing legal education each year. * Pam has presented seminars on consumer bankruptcy law for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education and the Illinois State Bar Association. When the bankruptcy laws were re-written in 2005, an article Pam wrote entitled, “Miscellaneous Changes: Time Between Filings, Dismissals & Sanction,” was published in “Understanding the BAPCPA [Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act],” a compilation prepared by the Illinois State Bar Association, copyright 2006. She has been selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer for 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2011. Only five percent of the lawyers in the State of Illinois are named by Super Lawyers following a rigorous multi-phase selection process. The process includes a statewide survey of attorneys, independent evaluation of candidates by the Law & Politics research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area, and a good standing and disciplinary check with the Attorneys Registration and Disciplinary Commission.
